Hi All, Newbie, intro part: I use to be quite into the scene of Dreambox flashing back a few years ago when I lived in Spain and the need was there to tinker with these boxes and get them working, however I am now living in the UK and I have not had the need to change the image on the box until the other day when I thought it would be nice to update my Dreambox DM800HD. I thought that the most recent image available was the OpenPLI but knew this had been discontinued a while ago, then I came across the Japhar forum topics and started reading, a lot, as I dindt even know there was a Sim card etc... I have 3 x Original DM800 HD boxes (SSL84). I really like the DM800 and was disappointed when development stopped on them as I paid around €400/box back in the day . Question: I was wondering, (apologies if this has been asked before, but I cant find it) is there a Japhar image I can try on my existing hardware BEFORE I buy the new Japhar sim. I have read on: http://www.ourdreambox.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=7625#Post7625 - "you can still use this image version (with your DM800HD Original with Original sim) built with 1.6.2 GStreamer." but this is what I downloaded and bricked my box with, im now waiting for a Null Modem cable to fix it, so thought I would ask in the meantime. Is this line correct? Can I try this version on my existing hardware to see if I like it before buying the Japhar sim? Many thanks for your developments, im glad I have found this for my DM800HD's.

Thats brilliant, thanks for the fast response. I will do the ALLSIM first (maybe this was the problem today?) Hopefully the null modem cable is here tomorrow. I have the Japhar flasher ready and waiting

Hi, I have the Null Modem cable today But the Japhar flasher is taking a long time and I dont think it is working correctly? It seems to run correctly and detects the box ok and does some progress bar action, then I click Flash, choose the SIM84 / ALLSIM84 .nfi file and it stops and does nothing on "Calculating Checksum", I have left it for 15 minutes and it does nothing. Is this normal behaviour? I have also the SIM84 file as linked in this DM800HD forum, but this is doing the same? 12:42:56 box type: DM800
12:43:32 Calculating checksum... Any pointers greatly appreciated

Hi, thanks for your help. I got this working in the end, liking what I am seeing with the download you linked me to. I understand as it is a year out of date now that not everything works as well as it should. Iv had a play with it and using IPTV Player, this seems good and a lot better than I had before. I tried to install JAM on there, but this shows a "can not connect to server" error so not been able to play with this. I also have not found out how to install CCcam yet. I tried the plugins manager, but this says "no new plugins found" (I am connected as I can connect to the box on my netowrk and I can play videos via IPTV player), Green button doesnt do anything either. If I buy the latest Japhar SIM card for my box, will I be able to download the latest OpenPLI v4 flash it to my box and all these tools will be running out of the box? No more command line and all done through the plugins manager? Many thnaks
