Canal+ launching its own telenovelas channel
Canal+ has launched Novelas TV, a channel dedicated to telenovelas, created by its own channels subsidiary Thema TV.
Novelas TV will air series produced by the likes of Telemundo, Televisa, Globo and TV Azteca and will be produced by Thema TV. The channel is already distributed in Africa, where it is the number one rated service in Francophone Africa, according to Thema.
The channel will be available in Canal+’s Essentiel Famille de Canal pack, via OTT and mobile and via the TV by Canal package on Free and the Famille by Canal offering on Orange.
The launch of the channel follows Canal+ recent addition of Polar+ to its exclusive channels line-up.
Novelas TV will air series including L’ivresse de l’Amour, Rubi, Amour à Manhattan and Gavilanes, with a new series, Terra Nostra, set to air from October 9. Other new shows to arrive in October include Une Question d’Honneur, Snata Diabla and Terre de Passion.
