Hi, I recently bought a japhar card for my DM8000 but since there are still some drivers issues I decided to bring to life my old DM800HD Sim 2.01. It had SSL72 and NabiloSat image. I tried making the cccam 2.3 that I had installed back then work by putting a cccam file in the etc folder but no luck... So i decided to dig around in the forum and found out that the last SSL for my DM is 84D as well as a few old but newer than mine images so I decided to upagrade it. That's when the problem starts. I have a disecq 1.0 switch with a moving Gibertini 1.20 (Vbox II + actuator) on port A and a fixed Mabo 1.80 on port B. Both DM8000 and DM800 were setup and worked this combination just fine (DM8000 still does) but since I upgraded the DM800 to SSL84D and a new image (I've tried 3 already) it doesn't work with my setup. It doesn't lock to the the current satellite that the moving or fixed dish are on neither move the dish as I change to a channel on another satellite. Nothing... dead... I put the DM8000 back on just to check that nothing's wrong with the dishes and everything works fine... The 800 refuses to work. Any ideas??? Does it have to do with the SSL??? Can I change it back to 72? Will the new images work on the 72 or will I have to find specific for it??? Any help will be appreciated!!! Thanx in advance!!!

Hello ! The SSL72 can be flashed at any moment, no problem, so you can downgrade your box again to SSL72 also if you flashed a newer SSL like the SSL84x. The newer images will never work with the SSL72, so you are stuck to the old images that have built-in the SSL72 if you downgrade to SSL72. Did you tried all the images ? Like the new OpenPLi 4.0 SSL84J Japhar ? Try to reflash your Sim to Japhar DM800HD and test them. If you have the Japhar Sim (loaded with Japhar OS DM800HD), then you can also try the Ferrari (SSLxxF) images, as well as all Sim2 (SSL84a-b-c-d) and naturally SSL84J Japhar. Perhaps this could be better so you can try much more images with your box to find the right one. Sim 1.0 Images (SSL72) : http://www.ourdreambox.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=postlist&Board=63&page=1Sim Ferrari Images (SSLxxF) : http://www.ourdreambox.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=postlist&Board=61&page=1Sim Sim2 2.xx (SSLxxabcd) : http://www.ourdreambox.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=postlist&Board=62&page=1Sim Japhar (SSL84J) : http://www.ourdreambox.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=postlist&Board=47&page=1Try my images DE-OpenBlackHole 1.4 and DE-OpenBlackHole 1.5 IPTV. This image is perfectly working with Sim 2.01,... are you sure you have a Sim2 2.01 ? If yes, and you have error, it could means your sim is corrupted (not communicating with the software/motherboard). Try to flash the SSL84d, to recover the box and the image with JapharFlasher. Admin

I do have the 2.01 I just opened the box again to check, plus as I said before I successfully flashed a few images yesterday after upgrading to SSL84D so there is no doubt about the sim. I have no idea how to do it but I suppose it involves a PC with RS232 which I don't have... So for now the DM is dead... Could you send me a link with info about the JapharFlasher so I can have a look until I find a solution??? Thanx again.

JapharFlasher works with all Sims, it's an Universal DreamUp, http://www.ourdreambox.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=2012#Post2012You find it on the Japhar boxes, you will need at least the RS232 cable to your DM800HDpvr. But if you have "error" in your sim, it looks like the sim is not communicating with the motherboard, try to remove, clean it and reinsert it to see if it boots ok. TS

Ok so I managed to make a null modem serial cable, found a usb to serial adapter for my laptop and everything went well... Now I have a working DM800 and it seems I got the positioner working too... Now I only need to set up the cccam and maybe try and add my own IPTV list if that's possible... All well that ends well... Thanks again for the help!!!
