Backup DM8000 Satellite settings? Upgrade problem!

Hi all, I just received the japhar sim I ordered for my DM8000 to replace the ferrari sim. I found the instructions how to do it... load ssl84j first then change sim then load new image, I chose BlackHole_IPTV_Japhar_DM8000HD_wIPTV_v22 hopefully it will be great. (I hope I understood correctly...) The thing is that I have a moving Gibertini dish (45E-30W) and a Mabo 1.80 (28E) on Tuner A (Diseq 1.0) that took me a while to setup and I'd like to not have to do it all over again... Is there a way to backup my dish settings and reload them after the upgrade??? And a second question is I read the image has quite a lot free IPTV channels. Does that mean that they never close or do we need to upgrade something every now and then? Thnk you in advance. Best Regards Kostas

Did you tried the tools such as DreamSet and DreamEdit on the Plugins/Tools section ? Settings : http://www.ourdreambox.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=postlist&Board=76&page=1The FTA IPTV Channels are FREE TV Channels via internet, like 8 FM TV, COMPANY TV, and many more, depending of your country (as some could be geolocked, so only viewable in a specific country). Check out as these are preloaded in the images and you can update via the JAM. Check here : http://www.ourdreambox.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=1958#Post1958Admin P.S.: Remember as well that in the folder /etc/enigma2 you have a file called "settings" if I remember well, with a lot of details inside that you could just copy/paste into the new settings file in the new image.

I have a small problem. When I connect to my DM with any browser I get a screen saying:
If you see this, your box didn't boot to Linux. Unless you interrupted the boot process, this usually means that you have no valid operating system in flash. Don't panic! It's not a problem. You can just flash a new version and everything will be fine! Otherwise, you can boot from network or USB. If you're about to give up, you might get help at the Dream Multimedia Support board! Currently there aren't many other features...
You can download your current flash contents (256 MB) here, but please don't expect to be able to flash it back. It's merely a debugging feature. This device's Serial Number is 21587, and was built on 2011/06/29.
Booloader version: Dreambox Second Stage Loader BUILD #76, built 20091014
device info firmware upgrade"
I press on firmware upgrade and on the next page I choose the ssl8j.nfi file and press flash but nothing happens... Any ideas??? Thanx

Thank you very much!!! Everything went smoothly so my DM feels brand new and full of potential!!! I set up my dish straight away and scanned the channels and then I couldn't find the IPTV channels but I looked in Favorites and there they were... not many of them working though... I'm in Greece and not even Greek channels work... I'll keep looking... I'm trying to install cccam but no luck yet... Thank you for your help!!!
Are there any 4K (H265) tuners that we can add to our DM8000 to make it receive 4K channels???

Hello, On the DM8000HD you are lucky, as you have both Video Player, the Extplayer3 and the GStreamer 1.x. So you can test one or the other one, to see which one is better for the FTA IPTV Channel List, as some channels will work with one, and some with the other one. The default DM "Mediaplayer" will not work properly with IPTV, so you must select Extplayer3 or GStreamer 1.x, see below how to setup via the ServiceApp (Generally the best is Extplayer3, that we use by default on DM800HDpvr, DM800HDse and DM500HD images). http://www.ourdreambox.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=13668#Post13668Concerning the Cams, etc, just use the JAM 5.x, on the Plugins Section, it's easy and simple. We are working on new images and new drivers, that will get your box even better, so we hope soon to have finish all this. Concerning the H265, remember this is not a problem of Tuner... it's a problem of chipset that needs to be built for it, as it takes a lot of CPU Power and so needs to be a custom design CPU to work with H265. The current CPUs for HD DM boxes (Original or Clones) are designed for MPEG2/MPEG4/H264,... but helas not H265. So the hardware will not be capable of supporting H265. TS

Ok so nothing seems to work... I read about the correct boot of the system but after a week mine stopped booting. It goes into an endless loop. If I turn it off for a while and uplug it, then it boots but without the VU+ logo so nothing works... Tried installing a few images but for some reason none seems to boot no even once... I hope i'm doing it right... I suppose after the initial ssl86j on ferrari installation, then sim change to japhar, then new image, from then on I don't need to change sims... I just install the image I want over the old one right??? Any help would be highly appreciated
Thanks
P.S. How soon do you thing this issue will be solved on the 8000. I think that the 800 work fine right? I have one too but i didn't buy a japhar sim for it and I'd prefer not to if the end is near... otherwise I might have to... I just need a working cccam nothing more...

Hello ! We are working on the DM8000HD drivers now, as we finished last July the DM800HDse V1, DM800HDse V2, DM500HD latest drivers. We had in April finished the DM520HD previous drivers, and some time before we had released the DM800HD drivers. So yes, the DM8000HD drivers are the last ones to finish, before moving to the DM900UHD drivers. If you flash other images and you go on the endless loop, to me it looks like the PSU (Power Supply) Capacitors, as it happens to all us once at least since we bought the DM8000HD, the PSU needs to be fixed with quality Capacitors. The Japhar sim is capable of running your old Ferrari images, as well as the new Japhar images and as soon as we will have finished the newest images with the latest drivers. Check here for your PSU : http://www.ourdreambox.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=1592#Post1592Admin

My PSU has ACON 105oC capacitors. I'm pretty sure that I had the old replaced with those. If I remember correctly I had either bought a new one with those preinstalled or sent my old PSU to be serviced. So do you think they need to be replaced again??? Can I buy a PSU that will solve the problem permanently?
