Hi got me an japhar sim and now my estarbox doesnt want to activate the miniflash
i have to put estarsim back to dm if i want to flash new firmware to dm.
If i press the miniflash button at power on like it should work the dm displays no ca found.
Normal booting to openpli is working fine.

Is there a way to get miniflash working with japhar sim?

Hello,

You can use the Mini-Flash button only if the old sim is in the box. So if you want to flash a Japhar image in your box, you have to put back your old sim, and boot pressing the Mini-Flash button, Flash the Japhar image and turn off box, and swap the old sim to the Japhar. This everytime you want to flash an image that is not for the "old sim".

Why this ? Because the ROM of the box has the old sim SSL, and this SSL is ONLY working with the OLD SIM. Any other sim will be rejected and not accepted by the proprietary SSL that the Mini-Flash loads.

But the easiest way to flash an image is thru the WebInterface, pressing the front button when the box is turned on. Or to use the JapharFlasher that is a software much more clever than the Mini-Flash/ROM of the box, as with the JapharFlasher you can use ANY sim and ANY SSL/Image.

Ok thanks for the info i was on the right track i just have to change sims for now.
I dont get that flashing trough web interface is there selection for the flashing in web interface like in miniflasher or do i have hold the power button longer or how?

But i guess its better to download japharflasher and do it with that.

Does it matter which version of openpli i have installed, it to work flashing trough webinterface now i have 6++ epgimport version.

Exactly, you choose the good images, OpenPLi 6+/6++/6*.

The Frontpanel Flashing button, should be pressed when you turn on the box until you see "STOP" on the LCD, then it will get an IP that you can use to flash thru the Web Browser, on the DM Web Interface for Flashing.

I dont have frontpanel flashing button only back of the dm is one and when i press that i dont get that stop message with ip on the lcd,
just r01: no ca found this is when i have japhar sim inside dm, with estarsim3 it works fine.

but no worry i got it working with japhar flasher, its funny when connected trough serial the dm loads the 2nd stage loader fine and i can flash trough webinterface.

what is the difference with 6+/6++/6* im little confused.

It's internal software, and compiler. 6+ was first (after OpenPLi 4, and 5 naturally), then you got the 6++ improved and finally the 6* that is compiled with GCC 7.2 instead of the others with GCC 6.3 or 4.9. Higher is the version of the compiler, better is the compilation (optimization of the code).

When you use the frontpanel button, you need to have the box NOT in NO CA ERROR, it needs to boot the image, otherwise it will never accept the frontpanel button. If you loaded an image with Japharflasher and have japhar sim inside, running a Japhar image, you can try to press the frontpanel button as explained and you will see the STOP message and then the IP showing. The IP on your Browser will allow you to flash a new image (for your sim in the box, so Japhar).
