The only way to flash the sim if you remove it from the box is to flash it with GCR/PCSC programmer with the option 2c. Options 2a and 2b, will reflash the sim in the DM Sim socket on the motherboard (Will need to work a Kernel 3.2 image, only for DM800HD a Kernel 2.6). Admin I must reject old sim... I ask not for me.
Also, I upgraded my sim in old openPli4 v15 on dm8000
