Hi,
I have original DM500HD (I added extra usb port). I'm using De-Openblackhole 1.4 couple years. I have dvb-t dongle Asus and it works perfect, but is unfortunately only dvb-t, and my country will switch to dvb-t2 soon.
It's my favourite image, have auto-dvb-t, and my question is - mayby somebody knows what dvb-t2 dongle model will work with this image? Or i can install drivers for that new dongle? Is any chance for it?
thanks for help

You have to check first, one very important point, the switch to DVB-T2 will be also to H265, or will it stay in H264 ? The H264/H265 is hardware in the box, so your actual DM500HD is capable of H264 only... check it. If you need H265 you will need hardware such as the DM52xHD (Combo box, Sat or Cable-Terrestrial) or DM900UHD/DM920UHD (that has a Dual Tuner with Sat + Cable or Terrestrial DVB-T2). For DM52xHD and DM9x0UHD you have the Japhar OpenPLi images available. H265 is mainly for UHD boxes, H264 is for HD boxes (and above naturally). Read this and check what will be used in your country, https://www.dipolnet.com/digitization_of_terrestrial_tv_dvb-t-dvb-t2_bib210.htmand let us know, so we can give you then the best advise. In Poland, the change from DVB-T to DVB-T2 is expected to take place by June 30, 2022. Admin

About ITALY :
By 30 June 2022 all current digital terrestrial transmissions will have to switch to the new DVB-T2 standard (HEVC, H. 265), successor of the DVB-T transmission technology that accompanies us from the historic switch off of analog television, which occurred in 2012. Of course, this change will also affect the televisions and decoders that we already have at home: if your device is not compatible, in fact, it will become unusable for watching TV because it cannot receive and reproduce the new signal. To avoid the danger of the black screen, it is advisable to act in advance. Although the term may still seem far away, it is best not to take risks. In fact, the first phase of the new road map presented by the Ministry of Economic Development foresees that the activation of the MPEG-4 encoding will take place already in the last quarter of 2021.
Furthermore, with the 2019 Budget Law, the Government has allocated 151 million euros of contributions for the period 2019-2022. Already starting next December, bonuses will be awarded to those who must change their TV or decoder to adapt to the new technology.
In this guide you will find essential information to find out: - what is the DVB-T2 standard; - what is the H. 265 or HEVC codec; - what are the advantages and disadvantages of this change; - how to understand if your TV or decoder is already compatible; - how to buy a suitable device and take advantage of incentives.
DVB-T2: what it is and what are its advantages The abbreviation DVB-T2 indicates the second generation of the digital television transmission standard, the successor of DVB-T technology. This new technological transition became necessary when the European Commission decided to release the 700 MHz transmission band, which includes frequencies between 694 and 790 MHz, to assign them to 5G mobile telecommunications for smartphones and tablets. The continuous development of telephony has in fact made it necessary to find new channels and these frequencies are particularly suitable for penetrating inside buildings and for circumventing architectural obstacles.
The second objective is to ensure greater visual and sound quality for high definition content, from Full HD to 8K, passing through Ultra HD 4K. The transition to the new DVB-T2 standard brings with it also - in the last phase - the adoption of the 10-bit HEVC codec (High Efficiency Video Coding, H. 265). Much more efficient than both the current DVB-T MPEG-2 standard and the DVB-T2 MPEG-4 standard (H. 264, which as we will shortly see will have a very short life), it is characterized by better data compression capacity without affecting the quality. In this way, a multiplex (MUX) will be able to host more channels than in the past with higher resolutions. In fact, the HEVC codec supports images in ultra high definition, HDR (High Dynamic Range Imaging) and in 3D, up to 8192 - 4320 pixels.
From DVB-T to DVB-T2: the stages The new road map drawn up by the Ministry of Economic Development foresees in an initial phase the activation of the MPEG-4 encoding (also available on DVB-T TV, ie first generation) starting from the last months of 2021. This step will be the most painless, since the vast majority of TVs in circulation are already compatible with this modification, and will have different timings depending on the regions: - from September 1, 2021 to December 31, 2021 in Area 2 (Valle d'Aosta, Piedmont, Lombardy except the province of Mantua, the province of Piacenza, the province of Trento, the province of Bolzano) and in Area 3 (Veneto, the province of Mantua, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Emilia Romagna except the province of Piacenza); - from January 1, 2022 to March 31, 2022 in Area 1 (Liguria, Tuscany, Umbria, Lazio, Campania, Sardinia); - from April 1, 2022 to June 20, 2022 in Area 4 (Sicily, Calabria, Puglia, Basilicata, Abruzzo, Molise, Marche).
The second phase, on the other hand, provides for the complete transition to the DVB-T2 standard with H. 265 or HEVC coding, activated throughout Italy between 21 and 30 June 2022. By this date, all television stations will leave the old frequencies to switch to the new ones. . Unlike what happened with the switch off from analog to digital, in this case there is no parallel transmission period using both DVB-T and DVB-T2: it means that the day on which, for example, the RAI channels they will switch to the new digital terrestrial T2, if you do not have a DVB-T2 TV you will no longer see its channels. DVB-T2 technology is completely backwards compatible: so don't be afraid to switch too soon to the new standard because you will be able to see the first generation DVB-T broadcasts too. In condominiums and in all ducted systems it may be necessary to reconfigure the antenna unit to correctly filter the new channels that will be activated. In fact, the automatic channel assignment system (LCN) will also be revised.
