Excuse me the question, why cleaning the flash with BSR solved this problem?

This is checking all the Flash chip and marks the bad blocks and clears the ones that are OK. So often the software marks bads, good blocks, and some bad blocks are still "valid". This is like formatting your Hard Disk, and it does a detailed work to be sure of all the Flash to be 100% reliable. In this case it means that some blocks were bad, but still not marked bad, and were corrupting the image, that wasn't working then properly. A good cleaing is always good to do, even more if you never done it before on a box that has few years age.

Thank you for the detailed explanation!
I think I have this problem on an old clone box, on dmesg I've read about a lot of bad blocks error, I thought that was faulty flash/ram, but maybe that with BSR procedure it will recover. wink

Most probably it will fix most of it, yes, and your box could become as new as the day you bought it after that BSR cleaning. This often happened to us. After a BSR flashing an image, it's good to reflash the image a second time, just to be sure all is perfectly in tune and nothing is left badly written in the image flashing.
